Since publishing Part 1 of our DIY dining table (on May 4 to be exact) we’re certainly come along way. In particular I’ve learnt how to make dowel joins, have a new appreciation for wood glue and understand sandpaper grit finally. (Aka the higher the number the finer the grit). But the most important thing is that we had fun making it with Brian. And boy was I excited this week when we got the call to say our table was ready to pick up. So over the weekend we transported her home (carefully), screwed a few more batten screws from the base to the top and unwound the six adjustable feet Brian had drilled underneath to ensure the table will always be level no matter where we later position it.
Luckily, it totally fits the space and doesn’t dwarf the room. Now we just need to find and restore some chairs and make 14 new friends to invite over.
